Albany is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Albany follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We had the pleasure of dining in and getting take out from Hana. They have plenty of booth, table, and counter seating. The lighting is dim but not overly dark. The interior decor is on brand for a Japanese restaurant. We tried their chicken katsu bento box which comes with standard sushi, vegetable tempura, and spring rolls. We also had the takoyaki, chicken hibachi, and fried ice cream. We highly recommend this bento box, takoyaki, and fried ice cream; it is delicious. The chicken hibachi was good; however, lacked a bit of flavor. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience and tasty food.

My sister and I took our grandparents here to celebrate our grandmother’s 77th birthday. Our check was $220 before gratuity. My grandparents wanted to order hibachi to the table rather than sit at the flat top grill. The establishment was freezing cold in the waited table area so decided to sit at the grill instead just to keep warm. My sister and I ordered mojitos and they were horrid. I never had such an awful cocktail. We took a sip (photo below) and instantly wanted to return it for a basic beverage because we couldn’t stomach them. When we informed our server, she said, “Oh, we don’t do tastings,” and immediately responded they likely wouldn’t be able to take it off the check, although, we hadn’t even asked for a refund. If a customer dislikes a beverage, food item, etc., one would think they’d offer to remake it, get you something new, or simply remove it from your check, right? But no, instead the server informed us instantly, no refund. Instead of trying to make a correction or suggestion for another item, establishments will take your money and then tell YOU, the “customer” to deal with it. They were $9 drinks, smh. Hana, you couldn’t remake it, offer a glass of wine, beer

Absolutely disgusting experience. I ordered takeout. I clearly stated no shrimp due to an allergy, confirmed it again at pickup, and still found shrimp mixed into the food. That’s not just careless — it’s dangerous and completely unacceptable. Everything else was just as bad. Vegetables were drenched in soy sauce to the point of being inedible, the steak and salmon had zero seasoning or flavor, and the spicy tuna roll fell apart the second I touched it — sloppy, amateur rolling. The only halfway decent thing was the fried rice, and even that wasn’t worth the risk of eating here. What makes this worse is that I’ve eaten here before and it was fine dining in, but takeout was a complete train wreck. This was hands-down the worst hibachi meal I’ve had in Albany in years. If I could give negative stars, I would. Do yourself a favor: do not order pickup or delivery from here unless you want mistakes, poor quality, and potential allergy risks. I will never order from here again. Real review!

Hana Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar Guilderland, NY is under NEW management! Not GOOD management. We paid dinner prices for lunch service & didn’t even get the decorative napkins with silverware, no bueno. If you have been to HANA’S before, just keep that memorable experience because you won’t want to create new experiences there now. Hana Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar Guilderland, NY.

We were greeted by friendly staff and seated almost immediately. The menu options ranged from affordable to expensive and there were cocktails and drinks for every taste. The wagyu fried rice was really good, as was the hibachi lamb and hibachi combination meals. Everything was seasoned perfectly without tasting full of salt which can be an issue at a lot of restaurants. Our chef Kevin was entertaining and funny and we had a really great time.
